Remote Setup

Programming Devices

  3. Enter 5-digit code for your device brand (see code list)
  4. Press POWER to test - device should turn off
  5. If successful, press SELECT to save

Tip: Use auto-search if manual codes don't work.

Voice Control

  1. Press and hold VOICE button (microphone icon)
  2. Wait for tone, then speak command clearly
  3. Release button to process command
  4. Common commands: "Find comedy movies", "Tune to ESPN", "Record this show"

NOTE: Voice control requires internet connection and may not be available in all areas.

RF Setup

Configure RF control for devices without line-of-sight.

  1. Ensure Genie receiver is connected to network
  2. Press and hold PAIR button until green light flashes
  3. Follow on-screen prompts to complete pairing
  4. Test RF control by operating remote from different room

WARNING! RF control works only with compatible DIRECTV equipment.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when remote becomes unresponsive or backlight dims.

  1. Slide open battery compartment on back
  2. Remove old batteries
  3. Insert 2 new AA batteries with correct polarity
  4. Close compartment and test remote
